I cannot complain where my office is situated. Right opposite The Office, there's good ol' Cantonese congee, famous roast duck noodles and (sometimes) very nice kopi. To the right, there's Ann Siang Hill, Amoy Street, Maxwell Food Market and Tanjong Pagar Hawker Centre. To the left, we have Chinatown Food Market and Pearl Centre. And I can get seats anytime. (Unlike the frustration Shenton Wayers face at every lunch time)
The best thing ever is the building less than 100metres behind of us - New Majestic Hotel. Just two flights of stairs away, I could get a glass of Martini for $10 during Happy Hour. How swell is that?
The Majestic Bar sits on its own at a 3-storey building next to the hotel. Most patrons would opt for the outdoor tables; the evening breeze is quite a treat. The colleagues and I took our seats at level two. At 6.30p.m., the crowd's thin and we had the undivided attention of the bartenders.
Though a treat, I didn't want to burn a hole through my colleague's wallet. So a glass of Gingerbread Man Martini would do.
I'm itching for a glass of Kiwi Mojito as I write.
Happy Hour @ Majestic Bar
