You may find this ridiculous but like they always say: "Only something like this will happen to you"

And truly, only 'something like this' would befall on 'someone like me'.

It wasn't quite the way I imagined my Friday would end. Last Friday was Assumption Day and my choir had the honour to sing at the mass. All pumped up (and dressed) for the occasion, I was packing my bag and getting ready to leave. All had left The Office, save for me and another colleague. It was 6.20p.m. The colleague came into my room and was surprised to see me.

Colleague: Eh 你还在？

Me: Oh I'm going soon.

Colleague: Okay. (She left the room and proceeded to the ground level)

I went to the washroom to freshen up and when I came out of it, I thought I heard a beeping sound which sounds when the front door is opened and closed. Naturally I assumed the colleague has left the building. In no hurry, I sauntered down the stairs. My right hand held a firm grip on the door knob and my horror came at this instant; the door was locked (from the outside).

"My goodness, didn't she know I'm still around?"

My second horror of horrors followed; the door knob on the inside was faulty. Missing, to be precise. There was no way I could have unlocked myself from the inside. I frantically tried to twist what remains of the faulty knob. Despite calling the colleague almost immediately to turn back her car to The Office, it took her at least 20minutes. (Damn the evening traffic jam) Meanwhile, I was counting the number of ways I could break out of this hell-hole, which includes putting a sledge hammer through the acrylic window. If, I could find a decent hammer.

My brief ordeal ended when the colleague came back for me. So all thanks to the faulty door knob, I was terribly late for church. The bus and traffic jam didn't help neither. Later on the bus, I realised my index finger was slightly bleeding from the scraps and abrasion when I was anxiously twisting the faulty knob with all my strength and might.

Nobody seemed to believe; they all thought I simply forgot about the mass and hence missed it entirely. -_-"
